Role Overview

This mandate requires a visionary leader to architect and globalize Bahrain’s remote-first blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. The Executive Director will direct strategy, governance, and deployment of tokenization frameworks, cross-border settlement infrastructure, and DeFi-enabled capital markets, ensuring alignment with international standards while advancing Bahrain’s position as a global blockchain hub.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and govern DeFi strategies integrating decentralized exchanges, liquidity pools, and smart contract ecosystems.

• Lead cross-border blockchain settlement frameworks interoperable with ISO 20022 standards.

• Establish governance models for tokenized assets, including equities, commodities, and sovereign-backed instruments.

• Spearhead adoption of cryptographic innovations (zk-rollups, zero-knowledge proofs) for scalable and privacy-preserving transactions.

• Align frameworks with international regulatory coalitions (FATF, IOSCO, BIS) and Bahrain’s Central Bank directives.

Candidate Profile

• 12+ years’ experience in blockchain architecture, decentralized finance, or capital markets.

• Mastery of Ethereum Layer 2 scaling, Hyperledger-based solutions, and multi-chain interoperability.

• Advanced understanding of governance tokens, algorithmic stablecoins, and decentralized liquidity models.

• Proven leadership in orchestrating remote, globally distributed blockchain development teams.
