This role is intended for a senior fintech leader whose expertise lies in structuring, governing, and future-proofing large-scale digital financial systems. The Executive Director of Fintech Systems Strategy & Digital Financial Infrastructure is responsible for defining how fintech platforms are architected, interconnected, and evolved over time.

The position operates well above feature delivery and operational execution. It assumes that fintech platforms function as financial infrastructure, requiring architectural discipline, systemic resilience, and long-term strategic foresight. The role demands a holistic view of how payments, account systems, transaction engines, data platforms, and financial interfaces coexist within a unified ecosystem.

Strategic Mandate

• Define long-term architectural and strategic direction for fintech platforms.

• Establish system-level principles governing scalability, interoperability, and resilience.

• Ensure fintech infrastructures are adaptable to regulatory, technological, and market evolution.

• Serve as the ultimate authority on platform-level design and structural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Fintech Platform Architecture

• Design reference architectures for multi-layer digital finance platforms.

• Define architectural standards for payments, transaction processing, and financial data flows.

• Ensure consistency and coherence across distributed system components.

• Evaluate architectural risks related to scale, latency, and systemic failure.

Systems Governance & Strategy

• Establish governance frameworks for architectural decision-making.

• Conduct deep system reviews and long-range scenario planning.

• Translate emerging fintech trends into structural platform strategies.

• Guide senior stakeholders on system trade-offs and architectural implications.

Leadership & Communication

• Act as principal architectural voice in strategic discussions.

• Produce detailed architectural documentation and multi-year roadmaps.

• Communicate complex system concepts with clarity and authority.

Candidate Profile

• 15+ years in fintech, financial systems, or digital finance architecture.

• Proven leadership in designing and governing large-scale financial platforms.

• Exceptional system-thinking and strategic reasoning capabilities.

• Ability to operate independently at executive level.
