A rapidly scaling fintech ecosystem is transitioning from standalone financial products to a deeply embedded financial architecture—where banking, payments, lending, and insurance capabilities are seamlessly integrated into non-financial platforms.
The objective is to transform finance into an invisible layer—delivered contextually within e-commerce platforms, enterprise software, mobility ecosystems, and digital marketplaces through highly scalable APIs and modular infrastructure.
To lead this strategic transformation, the organization is seeking an Executive Director – Embedded Finance Platforms, API Ecosystems & Financial-as-a-Service Architecture.
This role is responsible for designing the foundational layer that allows third-party platforms to integrate financial services effortlessly—unlocking new distribution channels and revenue streams.
Core Responsibilities
Embedded Finance Strategy & Architecture
- Define long-term strategy for embedded finance ecosystems.
- Design scalable API frameworks for financial service integration.
- Enable modular delivery of payments, lending, and financial products.
- Build infrastructure supporting partner-led financial experiences.
API Ecosystem Development
- Develop secure, high-performance API platforms.
- Enable seamless integration with external platforms and partners.
- Ensure scalability and reliability of API services.
- Manage developer experience and API lifecycle.
Platform Scalability & Integration
- Build systems capable of supporting millions of API calls.
- Ensure interoperability across financial and non-financial platforms.
- Optimize performance and latency of API services.
- Support rapid onboarding of partners.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations across integrations.
- Implement security and authentication frameworks.
- Maintain transparency and auditability of API interactions.
- Manage risks associated with third-party integrations.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in fintech platforms or API systems.
- Strong expertise in embedded finance and API architecture.
- Experience in large-scale platform development.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional environments.
