Role Overview
The Executive Director will oversee the transformation of Saudi Arabia’s digital payments and open finance landscape, driving innovation in real-time settlement systems, API-driven banking, and cross-border interoperability. This role requires extensive expertise in financial infrastructure modernization, regulatory alignment, and digital wallet adoption, ensuring integration with SAMA’s Vision 2030 digital transformation agenda.
Responsibilities

Lead design and scaling of real-time payments platforms and interoperable digital wallets.

Implement open banking frameworks with secure API ecosystems.

Ensure compliance with AML/CFT, ISO 20022, and international data governance standards.

Introduce AI-based fraud detection and compliance automation.

Build strategic partnerships with banks, telecoms, and fintech innovators.
Qualifications

12+ years in fintech, digital banking, or payment infrastructure.

Expertise in instant payments, CBDC pilots, and API-led ecosystems.

Master’s or PhD in Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Proven record in large-scale digital finance transformation projects.
