Position Overview
An ambitious financial technology organization expanding across the Gulf region is seeking an accomplished Executive Director to spearhead enterprise-wide digital payment innovation and financial ecosystem transformation. This executive role requires a visionary leader capable of modernizing payment infrastructures, accelerating digital financial inclusion, and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams across rapidly evolving financial markets.
The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives that reshape customer payment experiences, strengthen digital financial capabilities, and establish scalable technology frameworks supporting future economic growth throughout the GCC.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop long-term digital payments strategies aligned with regional financial transformation objectives.
- Lead enterprise payment modernization initiatives including instant payment platforms and digital transaction ecosystems.
- Direct cross-functional teams comprising technology, product, cybersecurity, operations, compliance, and customer experience specialists.
- Design innovative payment products supporting retail, SME, commercial, and institutional banking clients.
- Build strategic alliances with banks, financial institutions, payment processors, and technology providers.
- Establish enterprise governance frameworks for digital financial products.
- Oversee financial planning, investment prioritization, and portfolio optimization.
- Drive AI-enabled fraud prevention and transaction intelligence initiatives.
- Lead digital wallet integration, merchant payment solutions, and omnichannel payment experiences.
- Ensure operational resilience and service continuity across mission-critical financial platforms.
- Present executive recommendations to boards and senior stakeholders.
- Foster innovation through emerging technologies including machine learning and intelligent automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred.
- 12+ years of leadership experience within fintech, banking, payment technology, or digital financial services.
- Demonstrated expertise in enterprise payment transformation.
- Strong understanding of modern financial technology architecture.
- Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar transformation portfolios.
- Professional certifications are advantageous.
