Position Overview
The Remote Executive Director – Digital Finance Infrastructure & AI Payments Modernization will oversee the design and implementation of Oman’s integrated fintech payments infrastructure—driving interoperability, resilience, and innovation across retail, institutional, and cross-border digital finance channels.
This role involves architecting AI-enhanced payment systems, intelligent transaction monitoring, and multi-rail settlements to elevate Oman’s fintech ecosystem into a globally competitive digital payments hub.
Key Responsibilities

Build a unified digital payments ecosystem integrating instant settlement, cross-border interoperability, and AI-based transaction intelligence.

Develop payment system architectures enabling seamless integration across banks, PSPs, and fintech innovators.

Lead deployment of API-based financial networks aligned with ISO 20022 and real-time gross settlement standards.

Incorporate AI algorithms for liquidity optimization, fraud detection, and payment analytics.

Establish governance frameworks for cybersecurity, operational resilience, and payment transparency.

Drive strategic collaboration with fintech accelerators, international payment alliances, and regulatory entities.
Core Competencies

Expert knowledge in payment architecture, AI financial intelligence, and fintech systems engineering.

Strategic insight into real-time payment modernization, open banking, and multi-currency clearing systems.

Proven ability to manage large-scale digital finance infrastructure programs.

Strong grasp of cybersecurity, data governance, and system integration within financial environments.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in Financial Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Digital Payments Architecture.

12+ years of leadership experience in payment modernization, fintech infrastructure, or AI systems integration.

Strong record of accomplishment in developing or scaling digital payment ecosystems at a national or regional level.
