Role Charter
This position is established to provide executive-level direction and architectural authority over the modernization of digital banking platforms, next-generation core systems, and API-driven financial services. The role is not operational management; instead, it focuses on platform strategy, structural coherence, and long-term scalability across modern fintech ecosystems.
Aligned with Bahrain’s mature fintech environment, the role operates independently of any institution and contributes at system-design and executive governance level.
Executive Accountability Areas
Digital Core & Platform Strategy

Define target-state architectures for cloud-native digital banking platforms

Establish principles for modular core banking, microservices, and composable finance
-
Ensure platform extensibility for future fintech use cases without structural rework
Technology Governance & Design Authority

Act as final design authority on platform architecture decisions

Define architectural guardrails and technical decision frameworks

Ensure platform designs meet international benchmarks for scalability, resilience, and auditability
Integration & Ecosystem Enablement

Architect API and integration strategies enabling fintech interoperability

Define data-sharing and platform-access standards

Support open-finance and embedded-finance readiness at structural level
Risk, Continuity & Oversight

Embed systemic risk controls into platform design

Define business continuity and disaster recovery principles

Ensure traceability, observability, and system accountability
