Overview

Saudi Arabia’s financial sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation. The Executive Director – Digital Banking Infrastructure & Payments Innovation will lead the design, development, and strategic oversight of scalable banking and payment systems. This fully remote role demands expertise in large-scale digital infrastructure, open banking, API-driven ecosystems, and next-generation payment platforms.

The Director will drive initiatives that modernize banking platforms, integrate cross-border payments, and implement real-time transaction networks, ensuring compliance with domestic and international regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Strategy & Execution

• Architect cloud-native, API-driven banking platforms capable of high-volume real-time processing.

• Oversee cross-border and multi-currency payment systems, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and security.

• Integrate legacy banking systems with modern fintech platforms for seamless operations.

Innovation & Technology Leadership

• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including:

  • Blockchain-enabled settlement networks

  • AI-driven fraud detection and analytics

  • Automated reconciliation and liquidity management frameworks

• Lead cross-functional teams in implementing highly resilient and scalable financial infrastructure.

Regulatory & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with Saudi Central Bank directives and international standards.

• Implement AML, KYC, cybersecurity, and operational risk management frameworks.

• Develop governance and reporting systems for transparency and auditability.

Candidate Profile

Education: Advanced degree in Financial Technology, Computer Science, Digital Finance Architecture, or Financial Engineering

Experience: 12–15 years in digital banking architecture, fintech infrastructure, or payment system modernization

Skills:

• Deep expertise in digital banking platforms, real-time payments, and fintech integration

• Knowledge of regulatory technology, risk frameworks, and operational resilience

• Proven track record leading large-scale financial technology transformations
