Strategic Mandate

A high-growth fintech ecosystem is undertaking a large-scale transformation to build a unified digital banking architecture capable of supporting retail, SME, and institutional financial services across a rapidly expanding regional footprint. To lead this initiative, the organization is seeking an Executive Director of Digital Banking Architecture & Financial Platforms.

This is a mission-critical role positioned at the intersection of engineering strategy, financial product architecture, and platform scalability. The organization is moving toward a composable banking model—where modular financial services, API-driven infrastructures, and real-time processing capabilities converge into a seamless digital ecosystem.

The successful candidate will define and oversee the architectural blueprint that powers next-generation financial services, ensuring that scalability, resilience, performance, and interoperability are embedded into every layer of the platform.

Core Responsibilities

Platform Architecture Leadership

• Define the end-to-end architecture for digital banking platforms.
• Lead the transition from monolithic systems to modular, API-first infrastructures.
• Design scalable architectures supporting payments, lending, accounts, and analytics.
• Establish standards for system interoperability and integration.
• Oversee infrastructure evolution to support real-time financial services.

Engineering Strategy & Execution

• Align engineering initiatives with business and product strategies.
• Collaborate with frontend, backend, and data teams on system design.
• Drive adoption of cloud-native and microservices architectures.
• Ensure performance optimization across high-volume transaction systems.
• Lead architectural governance and technical decision-making.

Financial Systems Innovation

• Integrate emerging technologies into financial platforms.
• Support development of intelligent financial services powered by data.
• Enable embedded finance capabilities across external ecosystems.
• Drive innovation in customer experience and operational efficiency.

Governance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and security standards.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies for platform operations.
• Oversee system reliability, availability, and disaster recovery planning.
• Establish auditability and transparency across financial processes.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in fintech, banking technology, or platform engineering.
• Proven track record in large-scale system architecture.
• Strong understanding of financial systems and digital banking.
• Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking skills.
