A high-growth financial innovation institution is searching for a highly specialized Director of Fintech Security Architecture & Payment Systems Defense to lead the protection of critical payment infrastructure, merchant ecosystems, and embedded financial platforms across enterprise-wide operations.

This role focuses on securing the technical architecture that powers digital transactions—from payment gateways and merchant acquiring systems to API banking integrations, wallet infrastructure, settlement engines, and customer financial journeys.

The successful leader will drive advanced security architecture across fintech platforms while balancing customer experience, regulatory compliance, operational continuity, and fraud prevention excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture strategy across payment gateways, acquiring platforms, merchant systems, API integrations, and transaction processing infrastructure

• Design secure frameworks for authentication, encryption, tokenization, payment authorization, and fraud-resistant customer payment journeys

• Build proactive fraud defense systems involving transaction monitoring, behavioral intelligence, account security, and anomaly detection

• Collaborate with engineering, payments, product, treasury, compliance, and risk teams to ensure secure fintech innovation

• Strengthen cloud security, API protection, application defense, and infrastructure resilience across digital financial platforms

• Oversee penetration testing, threat modeling, red team exercises, and technical remediation across payment ecosystems

• Ensure compliance with Qatar financial regulations, PCI DSS standards, and enterprise security governance requirements

• Improve vendor security assessments, third-party risk controls, and secure integration frameworks

• Develop executive reporting for cyber risk posture, payment system resilience, and institutional fraud prevention

• Support strategic planning for future-ready cybersecurity investments and long-term fintech security modernization

Required Expertise

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or Financial Technology

• 8–12+ years of experience across payment security, fintech cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, or digital banking security

• Strong expertise in PCI DSS, IAM, fraud prevention systems, payment security architecture, and financial application defense

• Experience securing digital payment ecosystems, merchant platforms, and API-led financial infrastructure

• Strong strategic leadership and technical decision-making capability

• Executive-level stakeholder management and institutional security planning experience
