Role Context
Bahrain continues to establish itself as a regulatory sandbox pioneer and a crypto-forward fintech jurisdiction in the GCC. With the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) offering explicit regulatory frameworks for digital asset custody and token issuance, this is a unique time to drive institutional-grade tokenization architecture from anywhere in the world.
We are seeking a Remote Director of Fintech Asset Tokenization & Custody Architecture to lead the design of programmable token rails, build token custody vaults, and spearhead compliance-aligned digital asset platforms rooted in Bahraini financial law.
Core Responsibilities

Architect an enterprise-grade tokenization engine supporting real-world assets (RWAs), private equity, Sukuk instruments, invoice pools, and carbon credits on permissioned or hybrid blockchains.

Build cryptographic custody vaults, leveraging MPC (Multi-Party Computation), HSMs, and off-chain recovery protocols fully compliant with CBB’s Rulebook Volume 6 (Crypto Asset Module).

Define Bahrain-specific smart contract templates for tokenized Sukuk, digital property titles, and Shariah-linked securities.

Collaborate with legal and regulatory experts to model compliant digital asset flows, covering KYC/AML, audit trails, and dispute resolution frameworks.

Lead a global remote engineering and DevOps squad to build a robust wallet infrastructure, multi-asset token registry, and real-time NAV tracking.

Integrate with Bahraini commercial banks for settlement, liquidity management, and fiat-token conversion in BHD and USD rails.

Develop standardized APIs for token listing, transfer, cross-border clearance, and sovereign-grade audit logs.
Candidate Profile
-
10+ years in fintech platform engineering, custody systems, or blockchain architecture.

Demonstrable success leading tokenization initiatives in regulated or semi-regulated environments.

Expert-level fluency in smart contract development (Solidity, Cairo, Move, etc.), custody architecture, and token economics.

Intimate familiarity with Bahrain’s CBB crypto framework, including licensing procedures, reporting obligations, and custodian capital requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

Arabic proficiency.

Experience with Layer 2 solutions, CBDC interoperability, or zk-proof infrastructure for confidential assets.

Prior leadership in digitizing illiquid Islamic investment instruments for GCC financial institutions.
