  • Lead the design of high-throughput payment processing systems capable of handling multi-currency, multi-rail transactions.
  • Oversee integration of real-time gross settlement (RTGS) and instant payment platforms.
  • Develop resilient architectures leveraging microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed ledger technologies (DLT).

2. Scheme & Network Integration

  • Drive integration with global card networks and regional payment schemes.
  • Define routing logic for cost optimization, transaction speed, and regulatory compliance.
  • Optimize interchange fee structures and transaction lifecycle management.

3. Regulatory & Compliance Engineering

  • Collaborate with regulators on sandbox initiatives and pilot programs.

4. Cross-Border Payment Innovation

  • Architect solutions for low-cost remittances and corridor optimization.
  • Integrate FX engines and liquidity management systems.
  • Explore interoperability with CBDCs and digital settlement layers.

Technical Competency Requirements

  • Deep expertise in payment protocols (ISO 8583, ISO 20022)
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Strong understanding of API orchestration, tokenization, and fraud detection systems
  • Familiarity with blockchain-based settlement mechanisms and smart contracts

Leadership Expectations

  • Operate as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on payment innovation
  • Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, compliance, and product
  • Drive vendor selection, RFP processes, and technology partnerships

Compensation Framework

  • Competitive executive compensation (USD-based)
  • Performance-linked incentives tied to infrastructure scalability and transaction growth
  • Long-term innovation bonus linked to payment adoption metrics
