Role Overview

The Director will lead the architectural modernization of Bahrain’s banking foundation through cloud-native platforms, open-finance data-sharing frameworks, intelligent identity systems, and omni-channel digital experience integration.

Primary Responsibilities

Next-Generation Digital Banking Architecture

• Engineer cloud-native banking platforms supporting modular product engines, event-driven orchestration, and instant service scaling.

• Develop digital banking components for onboarding, payments, lending, savings, and risk decisioning with automated lifecycle governance.

• Build secure multi-channel delivery frameworks integrating mobile, web, API, and financial-embedded environments.

Open-Finance & Data Orchestration

• Implement open-finance APIs enabling third-party fintech collaboration, secure data exchange, and customer-permissioned access.

• Deploy identity verification frameworks using decentralized ID, risk-based authentication, and advanced fraud intelligence.

Cybersecurity, Reliability & Compliance Engineering

• Define security governance incorporating zero-trust architecture, dynamic threat detection, and encrypted data-mesh standards.

• Ensure full compliance with Bahrain’s digital banking directives, data-sovereignty mandates, and global operational risk guidelines.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years in digital banking engineering, cloud-native platform development, or open-finance ecosystem architecture.

• Expertise in microservices, API security, identity intelligence, and large-scale financial platform modernization.

• Strong fluency in GCC financial regulatory frameworks and cross-sector interoperability models.
