Position Summary
This role defines the digital asset strategy and blockchain infrastructure vision for the evolving fintech landscape of Qatar, aligning institutional-grade blockchain solutions with regulatory modernization and sovereign innovation priorities. The Director of Blockchain & Digital Assets Infrastructure will steer the architectural framework supporting tokenization, cross-border asset settlement, and compliance-driven crypto infrastructure integration across financial institutions and fintech startups.
Core Responsibilities

Develop and operationalize Qatar’s digital asset infrastructure blueprint, including frameworks for tokenized securities, stablecoins, and programmable money.

Lead multi-layered blockchain governance initiatives — encompassing node validation, digital custody frameworks, and AML-compliant DeFi applications.

Collaborate with financial regulators and technology councils to build regulatory interoperability mechanisms with FATF and ISO cryptographic standards.

Oversee R&D of CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) pilots, digital trust frameworks, and distributed financial infrastructure models.

Provide leadership across blockchain engineering teams, data scientists, and financial product designers to ensure seamless convergence of digital identity, smart contracts, and fintech applications.
Required Expertise

10+ years in blockchain engineering, fintech regulation, or distributed financial systems.

Advanced technical fluency in Layer-1 protocols, cryptographic security architectures, and token economy modeling.

Deep understanding of Qatar’s financial ecosystem, digital policy frameworks, and global crypto-asset regulatory trends.

Experience collaborating with central banks, regulators, and digital infrastructure agencies.

Demonstrated success in architecting compliant blockchain solutions in multi-jurisdictional contexts.
Desirable Credentials

Master’s or PhD in Distributed Systems, Fintech Law, or Cryptoeconomics.

Recognized certifications in Blockchain Strategy, Digital Asset Regulation, or Smart Contract Security.
