Advisory Mandate
We are seeking a highly capable Fintech Risk Intelligence & Financial Crime Technology Consultant to advise financial-technology organizations on the design and modernization of technology-driven risk, fraud and financial-crime detection capabilities.
The role sits at the intersection of fintech, data science, risk management, artificial intelligence, transaction analytics and technology governance.
The successful consultant will help organizations move beyond static rule-based controls toward intelligent systems capable of identifying behavioral anomalies, unusual transaction patterns, emerging fraud typologies and previously unidentified risk signals.
Principal Responsibilities

Assess existing fintech risk and fraud-management architectures.

Design technology strategies for transaction monitoring and fraud detection.

Develop frameworks for AI-assisted financial-risk intelligence.

Analyze transaction behavior and identify anomalous patterns.

Evaluate fraud-detection models and recommend improvements.

Develop risk-scoring methodologies for digital financial products.
-
Advise on customer and transaction-monitoring technology.

Assess the effectiveness of automated alert-generation systems.

Work with data scientists to improve predictive-risk models.
-
Develop frameworks for model validation and performance monitoring.
-
Evaluate false-positive and false-negative patterns.

Design technology roadmaps for modern RegTech and financial-crime platforms.

Conduct technology assessments of third-party risk solutions.
-
Develop executive-level risk reports and strategic recommendations.

Support the implementation of data-driven controls across digital banking and payment environments.

Translate complex technical risk findings into commercially understandable recommendations.
Intelligence Framework
The consultant will examine multiple dimensions of fintech risk, including:
Transaction anomalies
Account behavior
Payment-pattern deviations
Identity signals
Device and digital behavior
Network relationships
Velocity indicators
Geographic patterns
Synthetic identity indicators
Fraud typologies
Model-performance trends
Required Expertise
Candidates should ideally possess:

6–12 years of experience in fintech risk, fraud analytics, RegTech, financial crime technology, cybersecurity analytics, banking technology or consulting.

Strong understanding of digital financial transactions.

Experience with fraud-detection or risk-management systems.

Knowledge of machine-learning applications in financial risk.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

Experience interpreting large financial datasets.

Ability to evaluate technology architecture and operational controls.

Strong report-writing and executive communication skills.
