Role Overview

Bahrain continues to evolve as a regional fintech nucleus, leveraging regulatory agility and international partnerships to create a digital-first financial ecosystem. The Chief Strategist of Open Banking & Digital Financial Platforms will design and orchestrate a multi-layered financial services architecture, integrating banking-as-a-service (BaaS), API-driven interoperability, and financial data intelligence.

This role combines strategic foresight, regulatory acumen, and technology mastery, positioning Bahrain as a gateway for open banking across GCC and global corridors.

Strategic Mandates

• Architect a regional open banking framework, enabling seamless data and payments interoperability.

• Lead deployment of API-first digital financial platforms for retail, SME, and enterprise ecosystems.

• Introduce AI-driven financial data intelligence models for predictive consumer insights.

• Partner with regulators to align with global open banking standards and cross-border compliance.

• Position Bahrain as a cross-border fintech hub for Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Candidate Profile

• 15+ years in digital banking, fintech infrastructure, or open banking transformation.

• Strong technical expertise in API ecosystems, BaaS, and RegTech frameworks.

• Proven ability to deliver multi-jurisdictional interoperability projects.

• Visionary leadership with an international network in fintech partnerships and innovation hubs.
