Mandate Summary
This position exists to design, govern, and continuously optimize end-to-end payment operations across modern digital finance stacks. The role focuses on operational resilience, transaction integrity, and platform reliability at scale, ensuring that complex payment ecosystems remain performant, auditable, and failure-tolerant. The engagement is fully remote, aligned to Oman’s expanding role in regional payments connectivity and cross-border settlement readiness.
Authority & Scope

Own the operational design for payment initiation, routing, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.

Define reliability engineering standards for transaction systems (availability targets, latency budgets, incident response).

Establish operating models that scale across volumes, currencies, and channels without single-point dependency.

Act as final authority on operational readiness for new payment rails and integrations.
Core Responsibilities

Architect payments operations frameworks covering workflows, controls, and escalation paths.

Design SRE-informed reliability models for financial transactions, including redundancy and disaster recovery.

Define KPIs and SLAs for throughput, success rates, and settlement accuracy.

Oversee incident taxonomy and root-cause analysis methodologies for transaction failures.

Produce comprehensive operational playbooks and audit-ready documentation.

Coordinate with distributed engineering, risk, and data teams in a remote-first model.
Required Expertise

12–15+ years in fintech operations, payments platforms, or financial infrastructure delivery.

Deep familiarity with real-time payments, batch settlement systems, and cross-border flows.

Proven experience embedding controls and observability into mission-critical systems.

Executive-level communication and decision-making capability.
