Position Overview
The Chief Global Payments & Cross-Border Settlement Strategist will define Oman’s strategic footprint in the evolving world of international payments, real-time settlements, and digital currencies. This role will shape infrastructures that strengthen Oman’s role in global financial corridors while embedding next-generation payment technologies into the national fintech fabric.
Core Responsibilities

Lead design of interoperable global payment networks leveraging blockchain, distributed ledger technologies (DLT), and ISO 20022 migration.

Oversee integration of CBDC initiatives with existing banking and fintech systems, ensuring scalability and cross-border applicability.

Define payment corridor strategies between GCC, Asia, Africa, and Europe, reinforcing Oman’s trade-finance position.

Implement advanced KYC/AML frameworks using AI-driven transaction monitoring for secure cross-border payments.

Collaborate with multilateral financial organizations and fintech consortia to accelerate innovation in international settlements.

Provide strategic foresight on disruptions including stablecoins, tokenized trade assets, and programmable money.
Candidate Profile
-
12+ years in payments strategy, cross-border settlements, or fintech innovation.

Advanced qualifications in Finance, Economics, or Payment Systems Engineering.

Deep knowledge of international clearinghouses, SWIFT gpi, and blockchain-based settlement systems.

Strong familiarity with GCC payment ecosystems and Oman’s regulatory landscape.
