Position Summary:
As Bahrain advances its status as a Middle Eastern fintech powerhouse and pioneer in tokenized financial markets, the Central Bank of Bahrain and Bahrain Bourse are increasingly embracing blockchain-based capital market instruments. This newly created remote position of Chief Engineer of Tokenized Securities Infrastructure is designed for a deeply technical and regulatory-literate professional to lead the architecture of DLT-powered investment marketplaces, with emphasis on regulated tokenized bonds, equity instruments, digital sukuk, and fractionalized asset exchanges.
You will be responsible for the conceptual design, distributed orchestration, and institutional-grade security of a full-spectrum securities issuance, custody, trading, and settlement stack — all delivered in compliance with CBB Rulebook Volume 6, IOSCO principles, and Bahraini capital market regulations.
Core Responsibilities:

Architect a tokenized capital market ecosystem including token lifecycle management, smart custody, and real-time clearing.

Develop secure, permissioned DLT protocols for institutional-grade security tokens (STOs), sukuk, and REITs.

Implement multi-tenant issuance portals with investor whitelisting, tiered KYC onboarding, and regulatory screening mechanisms.

Establish decentralized compliance automation for CBB Rulebook governance, identity verification, secondary market controls, and AML logic.

Lead integration of atomic settlement engines and programmable dividends backed by time-locked smart contracts.

Design token bridge mechanisms between Bahrain Bourse, custodians, and regional GCC exchanges.

Integrate e-wallets for institutional and retail investors with regulatory-compliant self-custody and asset recovery modules.
Ideal Candidate:
-
12+ years in fintech infrastructure, DLT engineering, or tokenization platforms.

Hands-on expertise in Solidity, Substrate, Hyperledger Besu, or Quorum-based smart contract environments.

Strong understanding of capital markets, CSD/CCP mechanisms, and securities post-trade lifecycle.

Track record of implementing real-world tokenized asset platforms under regulatory scrutiny.

Familiarity with the Central Bank of Bahrain’s regulatory regime and Bahrain Fintech Bay ecosystem.

Degree in Cryptographic Systems, Computer Science, Financial Regulation, or Blockchain Law.
