Position Purpose
Qatar’s fintech evolution is at a decisive inflection point—requiring a transformative leader to define and implement the next generation of digital payment ecosystems. The Chief Digital Payments Transformation Officer will orchestrate large-scale modernization of national payment systems, integrating open finance frameworks, AI intelligence layers, and blockchain resilience into unified digital financial infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities

Lead the strategic redesign of payment architectures, harmonizing interoperability across banks, fintechs, and digital wallets under a cohesive national payments strategy.

Develop and operationalize cross-border remittance corridors, powered by distributed ledger technology (DLT) and ISO 20022-compliant infrastructures.

Establish an AI-powered payment intelligence network for fraud detection, liquidity optimization, and real-time transaction analytics.

Oversee integration of RegTech compliance modules, ensuring transparency, traceability, and automated adherence to AML/KYC obligations.

Drive cloud-native transformation, embedding scalable payment APIs and microservices for real-time global payment orchestration.

Collaborate with regulators and global partners to align systems with QCB, IMF, and FSB standards for digital financial resilience.
Required Expertise

Minimum 12 years’ leadership experience in fintech, digital payments, or financial infrastructure innovation.

In-depth expertise in cross-border payments, open banking APIs, digital currency frameworks, and AI-driven fraud analytics.

Proven understanding of GCC payment modernization mandates, global settlement protocols, and central bank digital currency experimentation.

Strong command of cybersecurity, cloud orchestration, and blockchain scalability frameworks.
