Position Overview
The Chief Digital Payments Strategist will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the evolution of the UAE’s rapidly expanding digital payments ecosystem. The role requires a deep understanding of cross-border payment innovation, tokenization, embedded finance, open banking infrastructure, and the UAE’s positioning as a hub for global financial innovation. This is a fully remote position, offering international-level influence while operating within the GCC’s most progressive fintech market.
Key Responsibilities

Architect and drive large-scale payment innovation strategies, spanning real-time payments, CBDC interoperability, blockchain settlement layers, and digital wallet ecosystems.

Design future-focused frameworks for B2B, B2C, and G2P payment flows, ensuring scalability and compliance with UAE Central Bank mandates and cross-border regulatory frameworks.

Establish best practices for AI-driven fraud detection, AML/KYC digital orchestration, and biometric transaction authentication.

Lead multi-stakeholder engagements with regulators, financial institutions, fintech startups, and global payment networks to accelerate adoption of instant payments and tokenized settlement models.

Develop long-term digital currency integration strategies aligned with UAE’s broader fintech innovation and global competitiveness agenda.
Qualifications & Expertise

12+ years of progressive leadership in digital payments, financial infrastructure, or fintech architecture.

Expertise in blockchain-based payment rails, open API ecosystems, ISO 20022 migration, and RegTech frameworks.

Proven experience working across multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional digital ecosystems.

Strong academic foundation in finance, economics, or technology; advanced certifications in fintech, payments innovation, or financial regulation highly advantageous.
