Position Overview
The United Arab Emirates continues to position itself as the region’s foremost hub for digital finance, open banking, and cross-border transaction innovation. In alignment with this trajectory, we are seeking a visionary Chief Digital Payments Strategist to lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of transformative payment frameworks. This executive-level, remote role calls for a professional who not only understands the complexities of multi-rail payment infrastructures but also has the foresight to anticipate market shifts, regulatory evolutions, and consumer adoption dynamics within one of the most competitive fintech ecosystems globally.
The successful candidate will bring together expertise in blockchain-enabled transaction platforms, AI-powered fraud detection, instant payments architectures, ISO 20022 messaging frameworks, and next-generation QR/wallet ecosystems to ensure that the UAE’s payments landscape maintains interoperability with global financial networks while preserving localized regulatory compliance.
Strategic Responsibilities

Develop and articulate a comprehensive UAE payments innovation blueprint, harmonizing local adoption with global interoperability requirements.

Lead the advancement of cloud-native payment infrastructures, capable of handling ultra-high-volume retail and wholesale transaction environments.

Champion the integration of CBDC experimentation, tokenization protocols, and real-time settlement mechanisms across institutional and retail domains.

Define and govern digital identity and biometric-enabled transaction standards to enhance customer authentication, reduce fraud vectors, and strengthen data privacy frameworks.

Conduct multi-market impact assessments to ensure solutions align with global remittance corridors and evolving GCC-wide interoperability programs.

Guide policy advisory discussions with regulators, ensuring compliance with UAE Central Bank directives, FATF standards, AML/CFT protocols, and GDPR-equivalent privacy frameworks.

Serve as the thought leader in steering payments modernization dialogues with international fintech stakeholders, consortiums, and technology alliances.
Qualifications & Expertise

Master’s or Doctorate in Finance, Data Science, or Payment Systems Engineering.

Minimum 12–15 years of senior leadership across digital payments, open banking infrastructures, or blockchain-enabled fintech ecosystems.

Deep command of instant payment systems (IPS), ISO 20022 adoption cycles, and SWIFT gpi initiatives.

Proven experience with cross-border settlement design, stablecoin integration, and AI-enabled transaction monitoring.

Demonstrated ability to balance regulatory complexity, technology scalability, and consumer adoption frameworks.

Exceptional communication skills to engage with central banks, policymakers, financial institutions, and international investor groups.
