Overview:

With the UAE establishing itself as the premier virtual asset jurisdiction globally through VARA (Dubai) and ADGM’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), the need for robust, real-time compliance technology to support tokenized ecosystems is paramount. This role offers the opportunity to architect the national digital compliance infrastructure that supports regulated issuance, custody, trading, and settlement of digital assets—spanning tokenized securities, stablecoins, real estate tokens, and crypto funds.

As the Remote Chief Digital Asset Compliance Architect, you will be responsible for building modular, AI-powered compliance layers that can adapt to rapid regulatory shifts across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and global jurisdictions. You will oversee the design of a decentralized compliance intelligence engine embedded with transaction monitoring, virtual asset classification, smart contract risk detection, and wallet forensics.

Strategic Objectives:

• Design a national-level compliance architecture for tokenized products, ensuring adherence to VARA’s rulebooks, FSRA’s digital asset framework, and FATF Travel Rule.

• Build surveillance tools and forensic layers that can scan blockchain transactions, analyze wallet behaviors, and detect anomalies using AI/ML.

• Create tools that support “compliance by design” for token issuers, including smart contract code audits, investor protection layers, and on-chain governance scanning.

• Integrate with decentralized exchanges (DEXs), custody providers, and off-chain oracles to support both CeFi and DeFi use cases within regulated environments.

• Design data-sharing protocols between compliance nodes to facilitate interoperability between VARA-regulated and ADGM-regulated entities.

Technical & Functional Expectations:

• Architect compliance modules using cloud-native infrastructure (preferably on AWS/Azure UAE zones) supporting modular deployment.

• Integrate graph databases for address mapping, sanction screenings, and FATF red flag pattern detections.

• Work with zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) and privacy-preserving compliance models to align with DeFi structures.

• Collaborate with policy units, regulatory authorities, and global virtual asset working groups to ensure global alignment (SEC, MiCA, FCA).

• Supervise a distributed engineering team and ensure SLA-level adherence to real-time compliance obligations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s in Compliance Engineering, Financial Cryptography, or Blockchain Governance.

• 10+ years in financial compliance systems, with at least 4 years in digital asset or crypto regulation contexts.

• Experience working within or building systems for ADGM, DIFC, or VARA is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRISA, or equivalent blockchain monitoring stacks.

• Deep knowledge of cross-border data sharing protocols, privacy-by-design principles, and cloud-native DevSecOps architecture.
