Executive Brief

This mandate is engineered for a senior fintech architect responsible for designing and governing Bahrain’s next-stage integrated digital banking and payment-intelligence environment. The role requires an advanced systems-engineering mindset that bridges macro-scale infrastructure design with precision-grade digital banking orchestration. The ideal candidate will shape Bahrain’s future digital financial ecosystem through multi-layered modernization, high-resilience transaction environments, behavioral-analytics-driven intelligence modules, and cross-vertical platform harmonization.

Responsibilities

• Develop sovereign-aligned digital banking architectures unifying retail, SME, institutional, and embedded-finance capabilities across Bahrain’s financial ecosystem.

• Engineer real-time payment intelligence engines leveraging AI-based anomaly detection, graph-based fraud inference, and dynamic risk-scoring algorithms.

• Establish enterprise-grade integration frameworks enabling secure API ecosystems, open-banking protocol enforcement, and scalable platform interoperability.

• Lead the modernization of core banking systems integrating microservices, distributed data planes, event-streaming pipelines, and high-resilience containerized deployments.

• Design unified digital-channel experiences including intelligent onboarding, authentication orchestration, adaptive KYC/AML layers, and cross-platform UX continuity.

• Construct hybrid data-governance frameworks supporting privacy-aware analytics, federated learning pipelines, and multi-tenant secure data exchange.

• Produce technical governance playbooks, architectural lineage documentation, and digital-maturity forecasts for Bahrain’s financial-sector transition.

Required Competencies

• 14–18 years in digital banking systems architecture, enterprise-payments engineering, or large-scale fintech transformation programs.

• Deep mastery of transaction-processing systems, open-banking frameworks, API governance, and banking core modernization environments.

• Expertise in designing AI-enhanced fraud, payment-intelligence, and risk-monitoring engines.

• Familiarity with GCC digital-finance modernization initiatives, with emphasis on Bahrain’s regulatory and innovation environment.

• Proven ability to lead cross-disciplinary technical programs across globally distributed teams.
