Department: Financial Crime & Compliance

Experience Level: Mid to Senior

Position Summary:

An ambitious fintech platform operating across the GCC region is seeking a Remote Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Transaction Monitoring Specialist to reinforce its commitment to regulatory excellence and robust financial crime controls. Operating from Kuwait or elsewhere in the Gulf, this remote role is central to safeguarding the integrity of a platform offering cross-border remittances, e-wallets, and virtual currency services.

You will be responsible for proactively analyzing customer transaction patterns, flagging suspicious behavior, and ensuring full compliance with Kuwait’s CBK guidelines, FATF recommendations, and regional AML frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor real-time and retrospective transactions for suspicious activity, using rule-based and AI-driven systems.

  • Investigate alerts generated from the transaction monitoring engine and escalate as appropriate.

  • Draft and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with Kuwaiti and international AML regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case documentation for internal audits and regulatory reviews.

  • Identify emerging risk typologies such as smurfing, mule accounts, or cryptocurrency layering.

  • Assist in the periodic tuning of monitoring rules and thresholds for better accuracy.

  • Support training initiatives for customer support and onboarding teams on AML red flags.

  • Coordinate with internal legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to address risk exposure.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3–6 years of experience in AML, compliance, or financial crime investigation, preferably within fintech.

  • Strong knowledge of Kuwaiti AML laws, CBK regulatory framework, and FATF guidelines.

  • Hands-on experience using AML tools like Actimize, SAS, Oracle FCCM, or similar platforms.

  • Exceptional analytical thinking, with the ability to spot patterns in high-volume datasets.

  • Professional certification (CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in English; Arabic is a valuable advantage.

Preferred Background:

  • Exposure to fintech products such as P2P payments, digital wallets, or cross-border transfers.

  • Experience operating in a remote-first compliance function across multiple jurisdictions.

Working Environment:

  • 100% remote across GCC time zones.

  • Collaborative compliance team with virtual war rooms and regulatory simulation exercises.

  • Emphasis on career growth, regional expertise, and AI-enhanced financial crime intelligence.
