Role Overview

A highly advanced digital financial ecosystem in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Principal Fintech Solutions Architect to design and govern the architecture of next-generation open banking systems, real-time payment infrastructures, and API-driven financial ecosystems.

This role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, financial systems engineering, and digital innovation. The selected candidate will be responsible for defining how banks, fintech platforms, merchants, and third-party service providers securely interconnect within a unified, scalable, and regulatory-compliant financial ecosystem.

You will be shaping foundational systems that power instant payments, embedded finance, cross-border transactions, digital wallets, merchant acquiring platforms, and financial data-sharing networks across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & System Design

• Design end-to-end fintech architectures supporting open banking frameworks, payment orchestration layers, and financial API ecosystems.
• Define scalable microservices-based architectures capable of processing high-frequency, low-latency financial transactions.
• Develop reference architecture blueprints for digital banking platforms, payment gateways, and embedded finance systems.
• Ensure architectural alignment with international standards such as ISO 20022, PSD2-inspired frameworks, and modern API security models.

API Ecosystem & Integration Strategy

• Lead the development of secure API gateways enabling third-party fintech integrations.
• Define authentication, authorization, and identity federation strategies for multi-party financial ecosystems.
• Build architecture for real-time data exchange between banks, fintech providers, merchants, and regulatory systems.
• Ensure seamless interoperability between legacy banking systems and modern cloud-native financial platforms.

Performance, Security & Scalability Engineering

• Architect systems capable of supporting millions of concurrent financial transactions with near-zero downtime tolerance.
• Define encryption strategies, secure communication layers, and tokenization frameworks for financial data protection.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure end-to-end resilience against fraud, data breaches, and system abuse.
• Optimize distributed systems for latency-sensitive financial operations such as instant settlement and payment confirmation.

Required Experience & Skills

• 10–15 years of experience in software architecture, fintech systems design, or banking technology modernization.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and API management.
• Deep understanding of financial messaging systems, payment rails, and digital banking infrastructure.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale systems in highly regulated environments.
