Strategic Mandate
This role is engineered for a systems-level thinker capable of designing next-generation cross-border payment ecosystems that align with the UAE’s ambition to remain a dominant global financial hub. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of real-time settlement architecture, digital currency interoperability, and regulatory-grade infrastructure design.
You will be entrusted with constructing payment rails that seamlessly integrate:
- Multi-currency transaction routing
- ISO 20022-native messaging frameworks
- Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) readiness layers
- High-frequency transaction environments with ultra-low latency
Core Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Architecture & Design
- Develop end-to-end payment infrastructure frameworks supporting RTGS, SWIFT interoperability, and API-first banking models
- Architect modular systems capable of scaling across GCC corridors and international remittance flows
- Design fault-tolerant, distributed systems ensuring 99.999% availability standards
2. Cross-Border Payments Optimization
- Engineer liquidity optimization engines for real-time treasury balancing
- Build FX abstraction layers to facilitate intelligent routing across multiple liquidity providers
- Implement smart reconciliation engines leveraging AI-driven anomaly detection
3. Regulatory & Compliance Engineering
- Translate UAE Central Bank policies into enforceable system logic
- Embed AML, KYC, and transaction monitoring mechanisms directly into payment flows
- Ensure full compliance with FATF recommendations and global financial integrity standards
4. Innovation & Emerging Technologies
- Integrate blockchain-based settlement layers where operationally viable
- Prototype CBDC-compatible infrastructures
- Evaluate quantum-resistant encryption strategies for long-term system resilience
Candidate Profile
- 12+ years in financial systems architecture or payment infrastructure engineering
- Proven experience designing high-throughput fintech platforms
- Deep familiarity with:
- ISO 20022 messaging standards
- SWIFT gpi frameworks
- Open Banking API ecosystems
- Strong exposure to distributed ledger technologies and tokenized financial systems
