Role Overview

Kuwait’s fintech sector is poised for transformation through the modernization of payment infrastructures and adoption of real-time settlement systems. The Remote Global Director of Digital Payments Infrastructure will define, architect, and scale interoperable frameworks for instant payments, digital wallets, and cross-border remittance solutions that integrate seamlessly into global financial networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design next-generation payments infrastructures aligned with ISO 20022, SWIFT gpi, and regional interoperability mandates.

• Build scalable instant payment systems, integrating blockchain and tokenized settlement rails.

• Lead strategic development of mobile-first wallets, QR-based retail solutions, and biometric authentication protocols.

• Ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and FATF standards, while aligning with Kuwait Central Bank directives.

• Drive multi-lateral partnerships with PSPs, card schemes, and fintech ecosystem stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• 12+ years of experience in global payments ecosystems and settlement infrastructures.

• Proven expertise in instant payments frameworks, blockchain settlements, and tokenized digital currencies.

• Strong regulatory knowledge of AML/CFT obligations and regional GCC payment compliance.

• Demonstrated leadership in managing remote-first, cross-border fintech teams.
