Role Overview

Qatar is actively investing in digital trade and payments innovation, aiming to position itself as a regional leader in cross-border commerce enablement. The Senior Director of Cross-Border Payments & Embedded Finance Innovation will design and lead multi-rail, interoperable payments infrastructures, embedding finance into healthcare, energy, logistics, and consumer commerce ecosystems.

This role demands a visionary strategist capable of bridging regulatory compliance, payments architecture, and user-centric embedded finance adoption at both national and international levels.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect real-time cross-border payments networks, ensuring multi-currency and CBDC interoperability.

• Drive adoption of embedded finance solutions across key industries in Qatar.

• Lead the development of API-driven open banking frameworks, enhancing developer ecosystems.

• Deploy AI-based fraud prevention and transaction intelligence models.

• Collaborate with regulators, telecoms, and trade institutions to harmonize payments infrastructures.

• Represent Qatar’s fintech innovation strategy in regional and global trade finance dialogues.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of leadership in digital payments, open banking, or embedded finance.

• Technical mastery of multi-rail payment infrastructures, APIs, and cross-border interoperability.

• Experience deploying fintech solutions in regulated environments.

• Familiarity with Qatar’s fintech policy landscape and GCC harmonization initiatives.

• Advanced qualifications in Information Systems, Financial Technology, or Applied Economics.
