Role Overview

The Remote Senior Digital Payments Solutions Architect will design, orchestrate, and optimize enterprise-scale digital payments ecosystems tailored for the UAE’s high-velocity financial environment. This role requires mastery of transaction-level systems engineering, ISO 20022 payment orchestration, PCI-DSS compliant architecture, cross-border rails integration, and UAE-focused regulatory alignment. The architect will drive strategy for real-time settlement, instant payment networks, card-scheme interoperability, open banking enablement, and emerging financial messaging structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect large-scale digital payment platforms supporting high-availability, real-throughput, multi-rail transaction flows across domestic and international corridors.

• Lead the standardization of ISO 20022 messaging schemas for UAE payment rails, ensuring consistency, security, and regulatory alignment.

• Define real-time fraud mitigation architectures using behavioural analytics, velocity controls, anomaly detection layers, and risk-scoring engines.

• Integrate modern authentication frameworks (FIDO2, WebAuthn, secure tokenization, HSM-backed cryptography) into end-to-end customer journeys.

• Develop next-generation open banking payment initiation frameworks aligning with UAE’s digital economy agenda.

• Perform enterprise architecture mapping across microservices, service meshes, container orchestration, and event-driven settlement engines using Kafka or similar.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration across payments engineering, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and financial operations.

Requirements

• 8+ years in digital payments architecture, fintech engineering, or enterprise transactional systems.

• Advanced proficiency with ISO 20022, EMV standards, card-scheme integrations, and instant payment frameworks.

• Expertise in designing microservices, API-first, cloud-native financial systems (AWS/Azure).

• Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulatory frameworks, payment service guidelines, and data governance standards.

• Demonstrated experience deploying large-scale transaction systems with sub-second latency expectations.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
