Role Overview

The Principal Digital Payments Innovation Specialist will guide the expansion of Bahrain’s next-generation payments ecosystem through advanced architecture design, transaction performance optimization, and cross-platform financial interoperability. This role demands mastery of real-time payments, tokenized instruments, AI-driven fraud detection, and regulatory harmonization across the GCC and international markets. The specialist will serve as a strategic force behind payment innovation models, compliance automation, and market-level performance analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Bahrain-aligned payment innovation frameworks, enabling real-time transaction flow orchestration and cross-border interoperability.

• Develop tokenization workflows, digital wallet logic, and secure multi-rail transaction settlement engines supporting global financial corridors.

• Engineer advanced payment intelligence pipelines for anomaly detection, fraud risk scoring, and dynamic transaction authentication.

• Optimize end-to-end payment routing models leveraging AI-driven decision layers, liquidity forecasting tools, and dynamic settlement models.

• Collaborate with multi-regional regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with Bahrain’s digital payment governance and international standards.

• Lead distributed technical teams in building scalable, high-throughput payments infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in digital payments, settlement technologies, or payment system architecture.

• Strong command of ISO 20022, cross-border payment protocols, tokenized assets, and authentication frameworks.

• Excellent understanding of GCC and global payment regulations.

• Proven ability to integrate AI/ML into payment performance and fraud prevention layers.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience in digital identity orchestration, real-time fraud intelligence, or sovereign payment infrastructures.
