Role Overview

This role is designed for a senior fintech engineer whose core expertise lies in building, scaling, and stabilizing mission-critical financial systems. The Lead Financial Systems & Digital Payments Engineer will take architectural ownership of distributed payment infrastructures that support high-volume transaction processing, real-time settlements, and multi-currency financial operations across GCC markets.

Although fully remote, the role is strategically aligned with Saudi-focused financial modernization initiatives, large-scale digital payment adoption, and regional financial interoperability.

Primary Engineering Responsibilities

• Design and implement core payment processing systems capable of handling high-throughput, low-latency transaction flows.

• Build resilient backend services supporting wallets, transfers, merchant payments, and settlement engines.

• Architect fault-tolerant systems with strong guarantees around data consistency, idempotency, and transaction integrity.

• Develop internal APIs and integration layers for banks, financial platforms, and third-party service providers.

• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability across distributed environments.

• Lead technical decision-making around system architecture, technology stack, and engineering standards.

Technical Environment & Expertise

• Strong experience with financial system engineering, particularly payments or core banking-adjacent platforms.

• Advanced knowledge of microservices architecture, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven systems.

• Expertise in transaction lifecycle management, reconciliation logic, and financial data accuracy.

• Proficiency in designing systems that operate under strict availability, auditability, and security constraints.
