Position Mandate:
Join Bahrain’s most audacious fintech transformation journey at the crossroads of monetary experimentation and private-sector decentralization. As Lead Architect for Decentralized Financial Infrastructure, you will craft and execute frameworks that bridge interbank liquidity corridors, cross-border settlements, and a CBDC sandbox environment. This role centers on systems architecture, token engineering, and supervisory technology alignment in a heavily regulated yet agile financial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and simulate core architecture for a retail and wholesale CBDC prototype under the Central Bank of Bahrain’s Innovation Hub.

Develop the underlying ledger infrastructure for tokenized Bahraini Dinar instruments linked to digital identity, AML/KYC layers, and programmable payments.

Interface with digital asset custody providers, FX liquidity nodes, and supranational regulators for interjurisdictional sandbox experimentation.

Advise and construct zero-knowledge proof–based compliance modules to maintain auditability while preserving privacy.

Lead a multidisciplinary team of cryptographers, monetary economists, and digital finance regulators.
Ideal Background:
-
Minimum 10 years in blockchain infrastructure, digital currency R&D, or monetary innovation initiatives.

Mastery of Cosmos, Hyperledger Besu, or R3 Corda in regulated environments.

Proven experience in managing stakeholder expectations between fintech startups and central banking entities.

Familiarity with Gulf monetary union proposals and BIS Innovation Hub frameworks.
Strategic Differentiator:
Candidates with prior contributions to BIS working groups on cross-border CBDC interoperability, or those who have developed sovereign identity-linked tokenization engines, will be highly preferred.
