Role Summary

This executive role oversees the strategic direction, governance, and technical architecture of Oman-aligned open banking platforms and API ecosystems. The Head of Open Banking Innovation will define the interoperability blueprint enabling secure data-sharing, digital onboarding, payments initiation, financial identity authentication, and cross-platform service modularization across Oman’s expanding fintech sector.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the design of secure API ecosystems supporting open banking data flows, multi-party financial exchange, and consent-based customer interactions.

• Establish API governance standards covering authentication, authorization, rate-limiting, message integrity, and ecosystem service orchestration.

• Architect scalable developer-experience environments including sandbox platforms, standardized documentation, and partner-integration pipelines.

• Build consent-management infrastructures enabling granular permissioning, multi-factor identity assurance, and real-time data-access auditability.

• Integrate high-resilience distributed systems supporting financial microservices, containerized service clusters, and gateway-level enforcement logic.

• Align open banking technical decisions with Oman’s financial regulatory framework, digital innovation priorities, and cross-institutional interoperability roadmap.

• Oversee continuous vulnerability assessment, cyber-hardening programs, and advanced threat-modelling practices for financial APIs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in open banking, financial API engineering, or digital financial architecture.

• Expertise in OAuth2.1, OIDC, API security frameworks, secure service-mesh networking, and high-assurance Fintech microservices.

• Strong familiarity with Oman’s evolving digital banking and financial regulatory landscape.

• Advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Financial Systems Architecture, or similar field.
