Role Overview

Kuwait, strategically positioned between global trade flows, is building a future-ready fintech ecosystem that demands cross-border finance innovations and open banking transformation. The Head of Cross-Border Digital Finance Strategy will lead initiatives that enable real-time settlement, tokenized trade finance, and embedded finance solutions, positioning Kuwait as a regional anchor for cross-border capital flows.

This role combines deep financial architecture design with policy shaping and technological orchestration, targeting interoperability across GCC markets, Europe, and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of cross-border payments infrastructure, integrating CBDCs and stablecoins for instant global settlement.

• Architect embedded finance platforms across e-commerce, logistics, and energy trade corridors.

• Spearhead API-driven open banking ecosystems, enabling fintech innovation and developer access.

• Deploy AI-based fraud detection and transaction monitoring engines.

• Work with regional regulators, trade bodies, and central banks to harmonize policies.

• Represent Kuwait in GCC, OECD, and G20 fintech dialogues.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years in digital payments, trade finance, or cross-border fintech solutions.

• Expertise in multi-rail settlement systems, open banking APIs, and tokenized financial instruments.

• Knowledge of Kuwait’s regulatory frameworks and GCC-wide interoperability standards.

• Advanced qualifications in Financial Technology, Systems Engineering, or International Economics.

• Strong record of building regional-to-global fintech linkages.
