Position Overview

Bahrain’s ambition to enhance its digital-finance competitiveness requires a senior executive capable of engineering next-generation cross-border payment frameworks, ultra-resilient transaction engines, and intelligent settlement architectures. This role involves designing real-time financial systems that unify global-scale interoperability, automated compliance, and multi-rail digital transaction flows.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Payments Architecture

• Lead the design of real-time payment networks featuring instant settlement, high-throughput switching, multi-channel routing, and automated reconciliation.

• Develop cross-border settlement corridors integrating ISO 20022 messaging, DLT-assisted value transfer, cloud-native orchestration, and advanced anti-fraud intelligence.

• Implement identity-centric access frameworks using biometric verification, tokenized authentication layers, and secure credential governance.

Intelligent Transaction Infrastructure

• Architect AI-driven fraud analytics, behavioural anomaly detection, transactional clustering models, and adaptive risk-scoring engines.

• Establish intelligent liquidity-monitoring tools for treasury optimization, predictive cash-flow modelling, and capital-efficiency enhancement.

• Build end-to-end payment observability platforms including event correlation, throughput diagnostics, and latency heat mapping.

Regulatory & Compliance Alignment

• Introduce automated AML/KYC systems with document-intelligence engines, sanctions-screening pipelines, and continuous compliance scoring.

• Ensure full alignment with Bahrain’s regulatory frameworks and international supervisory standards, enabling frictionless cross-border financial workflows.

Candidate Profile

• 12+ years in real-time payments engineering, settlement systems, or cross-border financial infrastructure.

• Strong mastery of ISO 20022, DLT-integrated payments, digital identity governance, and large-scale financial-system architecture.

• Proven leadership within high-volume, high-integrity financial environments.
