Role Summary

This position leads the creation of Bahrain’s next-generation RegTech architecture—an integrated, high-fidelity compliance environment engineered to automate regulatory obligations, improve financial integrity, and deliver predictive supervisory insight. The Executive Director will design intelligent risk engines that can ingest real-time financial data, detect irregularities, forecast emerging threats, and autonomously generate regulator-grade reports.

The role demands fluency in machine learning systems, cross-jurisdiction regulatory engineering, large-scale analytics, identity intelligence, and highly secure data governance architectures.

Core Responsibilities

• Engineer a unified RegTech infrastructure to automate AML/KYC workflows, sanctions screening, risk scoring, and regulatory reporting.

• Develop supervisory intelligence engines enabling real-time anomaly detection, cross-institution risk visibility, and predictive behavior modeling.

• Implement automated governance systems for compliance rule interpretation, control monitoring, workflow validation, and dynamic regulatory alignment.

• Architect secure digital identity and verification layers incorporating biometric recognition, document intelligence, and multi-channel authentication.

• Build data ecosystems enabling large-scale ingestion, federated analytics, continuous auditing, and real-time regulatory oversight.

• Introduce ML-driven risk analytics frameworks capable of forecasting threats, mapping behavioral deviations, and reducing manual investigation load.

• Ensure all systems align with Bahrain’s innovation goals and internationally accepted regulatory standards.

Expertise Required

• 10–15 years in RegTech engineering, digital compliance design, or large-scale financial risk systems.

• Strong experience in ML-driven risk intelligence, AML automation, and regulatory reporting pipelines.

• Expertise in secure cloud-native architecture, real-time analytics, and high-security data governance.

• Ability to design automated, supervisory-grade intelligence frameworks at national or enterprise level.
