Role Overview

Oman is strategically embracing fintech as a lever to diversify its economy and establish itself as a regional payments and commerce hub. This position is designed for a Director of Embedded Finance & Cross-Border Payments Innovation, leading the design and execution of multi-rail payment systems, developer-friendly API ecosystems, and embedded finance infrastructures that integrate seamlessly into retail, logistics, energy, and healthcare.

The role combines technical product leadership, regulatory collaboration, and cross-industry ecosystem building, with the goal of ensuring Oman’s payments sector becomes a regional benchmark for interoperability and innovation.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect and scale multi-channel cross-border payment systems, integrating real-time settlement and mobile-first commerce enablement.

• Design API-driven open banking platforms enabling embedded finance across non-financial sectors.

• Implement AI-driven fraud prevention and transaction intelligence systems.

• Collaborate with Oman’s central banking authorities and telecom infrastructure providers to drive regional payment harmonization.

• Spearhead digital commerce innovation for SMEs, retail, and international trade ecosystems.

• Represent Oman in global payments and embedded finance policy dialogues.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experience in digital payments architecture, embedded finance, and open banking ecosystems.

• Technical expertise in API economy, payments innovation, and financial intelligence systems.

• Proven ability to deploy fintech solutions across multi-industry sectors.

• Familiarity with GCC cross-border payment harmonization initiatives.

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Financial Technology.
