Mission Overview:

As Qatar continues its ascent as a scientific capital of finance, driven by the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Qatar Financial Centre’s strategic embrace of Islamic digital innovation, this unique position offers the chance to lead neuroeconomic behavioral data science applied to Islamic fintech.

The successful candidate will pioneer a multimodal cognitive finance engine, fusing behavioral finance theory, AI-based sentiment analysis, and Islamic ethical valuation into real-time investor psychographics, ESG compliance modeling, and sentiment-weighted sukuk issuance pathways.

Strategic Functions:

• Develop and deploy neuro-financial machine learning pipelines integrating facial microexpression data, voice sentiment analysis, and portfolio behavior trajectories.

• Design Islamic ESG scoring models that merge investor cognition, Shariah impact indexing, and sentiment-driven sustainability data streams.

• Build natural language Islamic finance classification models based on AAOIFI guidelines using transformer architectures fine-tuned on Arabic corpora.

• Co-lead digital Islamic capital market experiments with the QFC and QSE, using cognitive-driven price discovery for green sukuk and Waqf tokens.

• Construct sovereign-level behavioral risk models to de-risk halal fintech portfolios across GCC + ASEAN Islamic finance zones.

• Establish ethical AI standards in collaboration with Qatar Foundation and Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s Digital Ethics Lab.

• Architect multilingual data collection systems across Arabic, English, and Urdu channels to detect behavioral precursors of financial instability or optimism.

Ideal Background:

• PhD in Neuroeconomics, Cognitive Data Science, or Islamic Financial Informatics.

• 10+ years in behavioral data science within fintech or sovereign finance environments.

• Demonstrated experience in Islamic asset modeling, neuro-symbolic AI, or cross-cultural sentiment modeling.

• Mastery of Shariah financial instruments, particularly sukuk structuring, Zakat management, and Islamic ESG metrics.

• Proficient in Python, R, and specialized libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, NLTK, MindSpore).

• Deep understanding of Qatar’s regulatory landscape, particularly QFC FinTech Circle, QCB innovation frameworks, and local data residency policies.

• Arabic fluency or NLP capability highly valued.
