🧭 Role Synopsis
Bahrain, as the GCC’s agile regulatory and Islamic finance epicenter, is launching the region’s first hybrid AI-Islamic capital market innovation office, intended to automate, decentralize, and ethically scale halal investment instruments across public and private markets. This role will lead a pioneering institution designed to merge artificial intelligence with Islamic jurisprudential compliance—laying down the smart scaffolding for halal structured finance.
🎯 Key Responsibilities

Shari’ah-Compliant Derivatives Design: Engineer permissible financial instruments (e.g., Islamic swaps, profit rate collars, synthetic sukuk derivatives) encoded with AI-validated fiqh logic for compliance screening across global exchanges.

AI-Mujtahid System Deployment: Lead the design of machine learning and NLP models trained on centuries of Islamic jurisprudence to build an AI-based mujtahid engine for real-time fatwa alignment and Islamic financial product vetting.

Decentralised Exchange Governance: Build and manage a fully-regulated halal-focused DEX, complete with AI-driven fraud detection, legal logic layers, and real-time AAOIFI standard enforcers.

Smart Contract-Based Capital Markets: Automate issuance, trading, and lifecycle management of sukuk and Islamic ETFs across AI-governed smart ledgers, integrated with Bahrain Bourse and GCC clearing systems.

Policy Innovation & Regulatory Diplomacy: Interface with CBB, AAOIFI, and Islamic Development Bank to develop Bahrain’s blueprint for halal AI finance and capital markets automation.
🧠 Ideal Candidate Attributes

15+ years in Islamic capital markets, fintech innovation, or AI-powered financial systems.

Direct experience in structuring and/or trading Islamic financial products or Shari’ah-compliant derivatives.

Familiarity with Islamic legal epistemology (usul al-fiqh), classical legal texts, and modern AAOIFI-compliance systems.

Strong foundation in AI model design (LLMs, legal ontologies, semantic reasoning), and smart contract systems (e.g., Solidity, Vyper).

Advanced degrees in Islamic Finance, Computational Law, AI Ethics, or Quantitative Derivatives preferred.
