Role Overview

The Chief Digital Banking Systems Architect will lead the design and governance of comprehensive next-generation digital banking ecosystems aligned with Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving financial modernization agenda. This role involves defining multi-tier architecture structures, engineering secure banking cores, enabling real-time data pipelines, and orchestrating API-driven interoperability across regional and global financial stakeholders. The ideal candidate must demonstrate mastery of large-scale banking engineering, regulatory integration, and international financial technology standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Saudi-aligned digital banking architectures, integrating core banking modernization, real-time processing engines, and service-oriented layers.

• Develop and lead implementation of enterprise-grade financial microservices, orchestration layers, and cloud-native resilience frameworks.

• Define zero-trust security models, identity governance, and encryption strategies aligned with Saudi regulatory requirements.

• Oversee multi-jurisdiction interconnectivity with global payment networks, open banking standards, and ISO 20022-driven messaging flows.

• Build systematic observability, risk intelligence, and performance analytics infrastructure for continuous operational assurance.

• Publish advanced architectural roadmaps, system standardization policies, and long-term upgrade blueprints supporting future digital banking expansion in Saudi Arabia.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years in digital banking engineering, enterprise architecture, or financial systems design.

• Expertise in core banking systems, API ecosystems, cloud-native compute frameworks, and security engineering.

• Strong understanding of GCC regulatory architectures, digital banking policy frameworks, and cross-border financial governance.

• Demonstrated leadership in designing mission-critical financial systems at an international scale.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience with AI-assisted banking orchestration, distributed ledger integration, or real-time behavioral analytics.
