As Saudi Arabia spearheads the GCC’s convergence of Islamic finance with autonomous digital platforms, this executive-level role focuses on architecting the future of programmable Shari’ah-compliant finance via smart contracts, regulated DAOs, and permissioned blockchain infrastructure. Aligned with Vision 2030’s national financial sector development program and the Saudi Central Bank’s digital asset experimentation strategy, this position stands at the intersection of theological compliance, technological sophistication, and sovereign innovation.

🔍 Responsibilities

• Shari’ah-Driven Smart Protocols: Develop self-executing financial instruments (e.g., murabaha, ijara, mudarabah) encoded on blockchain platforms, with embedded fatwa-compliant governance rules verified via zk-SNARKs and formal proof.

• Digital Identity Fusion: Lead the development of decentralised identity protocols (DID/VC-based) for KYC/AML in Islamic finance transactions, integrated with national digital ID infrastructure and the emerging GCC Trust Framework.

• Protocol Governance and DAO Architecture: Establish programmable Shari’ah Supervisory DAOs to oversee smart contract validity, including multisig governance and oracles that ingest real-time fiqh updates from global scholars.

• Asset Tokenisation Layer: Build a tokenisation engine for Islamic financial assets (e.g., sukuk, halal private equity, real estate funds), with lifecycle monitoring and smart dispute resolution.

• Regulatory & Theological Synchronisation: Interface with SAMA, AAOIFI, IFSB, and global Islamic legal boards to ensure continual theological-regulatory alignment on autonomous finance systems.

👤 Candidate Profile

• 12–15 years in fintech architecture, blockchain engineering, or Islamic financial technology.

• Proven background in building blockchain-based Islamic financial products with real-world deployment.

• Fluency in both Arabic and English; demonstrable grounding in usul al-fiqh and contemporary Islamic financial jurisprudence is essential.

• Experience with Solidity, Cairo, or Rust for smart contracts, and practical implementation of zero-knowledge proof systems.

• Postgraduate degree in Shari’ah-compliant finance, cryptographic engineering, or legal informatics highly preferred.
