Job Overview
About the Role
We’re seeking a Business Advisor with a strong grasp of financial technology ecosystems, revenue models, and regulatory nuance to help guide strategic decisions across product, partnerships, and market expansion. This role is not about offering broad advice — it’s about helping leadership interpret critical signals, challenge assumptions, and identify monetizable opportunities in a fast-moving and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
-
Advise C-suite and senior leadership on business model optimization, especially regarding embedded finance, API monetization, and real-time payments infrastructure.
-
Assess partnership opportunities with banks, PSPs, card networks, and alternative lenders, identifying alignment with long-term margin strategy.
-
Provide actionable insights into customer acquisition cost (CAC), customer lifetime value (LTV), and retention patterns across different fintech user segments.
-
Analyze regulatory changes (e.g., PSD3, CFPB directives, DORA) and their strategic implications on the firm’s offerings and geographic roadmap.
-
Collaborate with product and data teams to evaluate new revenue lines (e.g., interchange, lending-as-a-service, BaaS overlays).
-
Benchmark against competitors, including neobanks, embedded finance providers, and infrastructure players, to identify positioning gaps and strategic levers.
-
Lead internal strategy sprints around pricing structures, expansion models, or market fit for early-stage concepts.
Requirements
-
Proven advisory experience within fintech, ideally with exposure to both early-stage and growth-stage companies.
-
Deep understanding of how payment rails, open banking, digital lending, and wealthtech verticals interact within the regulatory and commercial landscape.
-
Strong analytical background: able to interpret market data, customer behavior metrics, and regulatory trends into clear business strategies.
-
Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making at the executive level, with clarity and bias toward execution.
-
Experience working with or advising firms that handle complex licensing, compliance, or cross-border challenges is highly preferred.
-
Comfort working in ambiguity with rapidly shifting priorities, and aligning stakeholders with differing incentives.
