About the Role:
We’re seeking a Billing Support Specialist with direct experience navigating complex, tech-driven billing ecosystems within the fintech space. This role is not about answering general inquiries — it’s about owning and resolving high-impact billing cases tied to API usage, variable pricing models, SaaS subscriptions, and financial transaction flows. You’ll operate at the intersection of customer experience, finance operations, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and resolve escalated billing cases involving fintech-specific models such as interchange fee structures, ledger-based billing, and multi-tiered subscription plans.

Reconcile discrepancies between usage data from APIs and invoiced amounts, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and data teams to identify root causes.

Interpret and explain billing mechanics tied to smart contracts, automated payout systems, and payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Plaid integrations).

Support end users and institutional clients with clarity on invoice breakdowns, refunds, chargebacks, and tax calculations, including VAT and regional compliance issues.

Maintain and continuously improve internal documentation and customer-facing billing FAQs in coordination with product and legal.

Assist with onboarding new enterprise clients by guiding them through custom billing implementations and helping configure invoicing preferences aligned with their financial systems.
Minimum Qualifications:

2+ years in a billing, finance operations, or technical support role within a fintech or financial services company.

Familiarity with payment infrastructure (ACH, card networks, real-time payments), digital wallets, and embedded finance platforms.

Proven ability to handle high-volume data with tools such as SQL, Excel, or Looker to audit and verify transactional accuracy.

Strong grasp of SaaS billing frameworks, metered usage models, and subscription lifecycle events (upgrades, proration, etc.).

Excellent written communication; must be able to distill complex financial logic into concise responses for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting clients in B2B fintech (e.g., neobanks, lending platforms, BaaS providers).

Exposure to ERP systems and invoicing tools (e.g., Netsuite, Chargebee, Zuora).

Knowledge of financial compliance requirements, such as PCI-DSS, SOC2, or PSD2, as they pertain to billing and data handling.
