About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-driven and execution-oriented Banking & Payments Manager with deep fintech infrastructure knowledge to lead our banking relationships, optimize payment flows, and ensure the seamless functioning of our transactional backbone. This is not a generic ops role—you’ll be the point person for our regulated financial flows, troubleshooting bank integration issues, managing PSPs and EMIs, and ensuring our clients’ money moves securely, fast, and within compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities

Own and manage relationships with partner banks, EMIs, PSPs, and payment infrastructure providers (e.g., Open Banking platforms, card schemes, FX partners).

Lead onboarding, KYC/KYB coordination, and ongoing due diligence of financial institutions and third-party payment processors.

Monitor and optimize payment rails (SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments, ACH, local schemes) to reduce failure rates and settlement delays.

Coordinate with compliance teams on AML, transaction monitoring triggers, and data reporting to financial institutions and regulators.

Act as an escalation point for transactional issues—failures, delays, chargebacks, reconciliation mismatches—and drive rapid resolution.

Implement operational risk controls and lead quarterly reviews of financial flows and exposure to counterparties.

Evaluate new partners and geographies for banking/payment coverage expansion.

Collaborate closely with product and engineering to integrate and test payment APIs, design user flows, and support incident triage.

Own dashboarding and metrics for all money movement activities; produce weekly reporting on uptime, latency, and throughput.
What We’re Looking For

5+ years experience in fintech, payments, or digital banking operations, ideally in a fast-scaling B2B or B2C context.

Strong understanding of global payment ecosystems: SWIFT, SEPA Instant, RTP, FPS, ACH, card acquiring, BIN sponsorship, and virtual IBANs.

Prior experience owning PSP and banking partner relationships, including negotiation, escalation, and integration.

Familiarity with API-led payment processing and reconciliation tools; bonus if you’ve worked with providers like ClearBank, Modulr, Currencycloud, or Banking-as-a-Service platforms.

Demonstrated track record of building resilient payment operations and proactively resolving bottlenecks or outages.

Comfortable working with engineers and product teams on financial infrastructure and systems design.

Exceptional attention to detail and a sense of urgency when managing client funds or financial flows.

Knowledge of compliance implications across different jurisdictions (e.g., PSD2, FCA, MAS, or FinCEN frameworks) is highly advantageous.
Nice to Have

Experience managing card program operations (issuing or acquiring).

Exposure to cross-border FX flows or treasury management in a fintech context.

Familiarity with payment fraud prevention, AML tooling, and transaction monitoring rules.
